Following the declaration of independence of the Republic of Montenegro, and reflecting the views of the international community on this matter, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has announced that the Republic of Serbia continues the membership of Serbia and Montenegro in the IMF. The Republic of Serbia similarly continues the membership of Serbia and Montenegro in the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the International Finance Corporation, the International Development Association, and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency.
The Republic of Montenegro has applied for membership in IBRD, IFC, IDA, and MIGA. The application will be processed in coordination with the Fund.
